	DENSITY TRANSMITTER SUITS DIVERSE APPLICATIONS

	PSM has introduced the 290 series density transmitter that is available in a variety of configurations to suit numerous in-tank density monitoring applications. These are as diverse as beer fermentation, where very small changes in density must be resolved, to drilling mud storage, where mechanical protection and rugged construction are essential. A key feature of the unit is that it can be "tailored" to specific applications and, because of the flexibility of its- design, is viable and cost effective for low-volume orders. Covering densities in the range of 0.5 to 3.0, the sensor is also suitable for use in media that stratifies since its measurements are averaged across the separation distance between the two measurement diaphragms. It will operate in temperatures from -10°C to +80°C, and intrinsically safe versions are available. The unit can be mounted externally or internally submersed and is constructed from material appropriate for the application, whether the requirement is hygiene or ruggedness. Signal output is two-wire, 4-20mA from a remote, weatherproof amplifier.
